The HELP Foundation kicked off its annual fundraising campaign Love 2 HELP (#love2help) February 1st. The HELP Foundation is a 501c3 not-for-profit disaster management agency based in Houston, Texas. HELP serves communities by facilitating disaster preparedness, response and recovery initiatives and by bringing together resources other agencies cannot. With 343 tornadoes, thousands of acres burned and over 300 fatalities, disaster costs skyrocketed to over $1 billion in 2011. HELP was able to respond to the three most devastating disasters in 2011. The HELP Foundation Incident Management Team responses saved taxpayers over $60,000. Our operational agreements saved city governments over $80,000 in planning support and exercises. This year the goal of the two month campaign is $75,000. Every $100 donated can provide a community over $2,000 in services. All contributions assist The HELP Foundation in sending Incident Management Teams (IMT) and volunteers into disasters. Every hour of volunteer work is seen as a monetary value and reduces the overall cost of recovery for communities. Tax deductible donations can be made via the HELP Foundation website.
