The HELP

The HELP! INITIATIVES
The HELP! ™ Foundation envisions a number of vehicles to provide the housing, education, training, and financial and emotional support necessary to accomplish its goals. We strive to help all who are willing to help themselves become healthy, productive members of society. The following programs will be provided either through The HELP! Foundation directly, or through referrals:
- HELP! Hotline to provide immediate access to a phone counselor. Phone counselors assess the callers’ situation and provide appropriate emergency shelter and/or assistance options.
- Central Clearinghouse and Personal Advocacy for individuals emerging from recent crises and/or welfare dependence to help them develop and navigate a holistic life improvement plan involving a wide range of resources, programs, and services designed to heal their wounds and equip them with practical skills needed to live productively.
- HELP! Houses will continue to be in high demand for displaced families. Urban redevelopment and transitional housing are both very much needed in Central Arkansas. Additional units will be purchased for renovation and occupancy as quickly as funds become available.
- HELP! Healing ensures that each individual receives personal, emotional, medical, spiritual, and therapeutic support needed to heal and grow in a holistic approach to encourage permanent transformation from destructive mindsets to a healthy approach to life.
- HELP! Life Centers to offer education in basic life skills such as managing personal finances, parenting, negotiating rental agreements and contracts, writing a resume, interview skills and dressing for success, and entry level workforce skills. In the entrepreneurship program, participants are placed in apprenticeships with a personal mentor in the industry of their choice with grants available through participating business partners.
- HELP! Corp as a business incubator helping individuals from entrepreneurial programs create and run successful small businesses. Businesses are strengthened by binding efforts of other small businesses into a single corporation so each can share in the strength of the whole. These businesses also help ensure availability of all levels of employment to HELP! Participants.
- HELP! Homes to help participants achieve home ownership. By leveraging public, private, and tax credit opportunities, and through the HUD 5(h) Home Ownership program, public housing projects can be converted into cooperative housing, allowing tenants to become home owners and engendering a sense of pride, stability, and long-term security
